I think we can all agree that weddings are outrageously expensive! My frugal heart couldn't handle spending more than 5k on a wedding even though I knew I wanted our special day to be unique and magical. One of the many ways we found to save money was to give our guests a useful and meaningful party favor. We also wanted something that fit our spring wedding theme and our love for gardening. If you follow our blog you know by now that we are passionate about growing our own food and providing for ourselves. A packet of seeds was the perfect way to capture our spirits and thank our guests for attending. We bought a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herb seeds, as well as a pack of pink chevron striped bags. We tucked one seed packet into each bag and put them on each person's place setting. It was actually really special to see pictures of everyone's plants thriving that summer!
I felt like sharing some other little details that my heart still obsesses over... The venue we chose will always bring back precious and funny memories. It was a charming German mansion with authentic knickknacks and even more authentic food. Everything about this place makes my heart happy.
Our nature-inspired wedding cake (that I never ate of course) was super popular. I heard it was delicious from our guests! I ordered some bird cages and nests for decor, which we now have in our one year old daughter's room.
My bridesmaids and I wore pink rain boots since it was a spring wedding in Portland. We got the perfect weather!
